── 02 · Types of AI chatbots ──

Six chatbots we build most.

Pick one to see what it handles and what a real conversation looks like.

— 01 · Customer support chatbots —

Answers from your policies, actions in your systems.

Support bots that answer from your help centre and order data, take simple actions, and hand anything tricky to a person with the context attached.

  • Order status, returns, refunds and account questions
  • Answers cited from your help centre and policies
  • Handoff to your helpdesk with the full transcript
  • Tone and escalation rules your support lead signs off
— Typical first launch —

A support bot on your website resolving your top intents, with a weekly quality report.

— 02 · Transactional chatbots —

Bookings, changes and payments, done in the chat.

Bots that complete tasks end to end: book, reschedule, pay, update details. Every action goes through your APIs with the user verified first.

  • Bookings, reschedules and cancellations
  • Payments through your provider's secure fields
  • Identity checks before any account change
  • Confirmation by SMS or email after every action
— Typical first launch —

One high-volume task, such as rescheduling, fully automated with a fallback to a person.

Phone calls answered, routed and resolved.

Voice agents for inbound calls: they understand the caller, look things up, take simple actions and transfer to the right team when needed.

  • Natural speech in, natural speech out
  • Caller verification and account lookups
  • Warm transfer to the right queue, with a summary
  • Call transcripts and outcomes in your CRM
— Typical first launch —

A voice agent on one call type, such as billing questions, running beside your IVR.

— 04 · Multilingual chatbots —

One knowledge base, every customer's language.

Bots that detect the customer's language and answer in it, from policies written once in English. Quality is measured per language, not assumed.

  • Automatic language detection
  • Answers from one source-language knowledge base
  • Per-language evaluation sets and quality reports
  • Handoff to agents who speak the language, where you have them
— Typical first launch —

── 03 · Conversation design ──

Every message takes one of three paths.

Answer it, act on it, or hand it to a person. We design each path, and the rules between them, from your real transcripts.

Conversation flow: a customer message is classified by intent. Confident questions are answered from documents, account requests take a verified action, and unsure cases go to a person. Answers and actions pass guardrails before the reply; handoffs reach an agent with the full context.Customer messageWeb · app · voiceUnderstand intentNLU + confidenceAnswer from docsRetrieval · citedTake an actionVerify · call APIHand to a personQueue · transcriptGuardrailsPolicy · PII · toneReplyWith sourceAgent picks up with contextSummary · history · intentconfidentneeds an accountunsure or asked

── 05 · Safety and compliance ──

Safe to put in front of customers.

A chatbot speaks for your brand to every customer at once. These controls ship with the first version, not after the first incident.

  1. 01

    Grounded answers.

Answers come from your documents and systems, with the source shown. No source, no answer.

  2. 02

    A clean handoff.

When the bot is unsure, or the customer asks, a person takes over with the full transcript.

  3. 03

    Payments and personal data.

Card details go through your payment provider's secure fields, never the model. Personal data is masked in logs.

  4. 04

    Abuse and prompt injection.

Customer messages can't change the bot's instructions, and every action it can take is allow-listed.

  5. 05

    Compliance support.

Built to support GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and PCI DSS obligations, with your counsel signing off.

── 06 · What we measure ──

Resolved, not deflected.

A chatbot that pushes customers away looks good on a dashboard and bad in your reviews. We report what actually happened to every conversation, every week.

  • Resolution rate: solved without a person, confirmed by the customer
  • Handoff quality: did the agent have what they needed?
  • Answer accuracy: flagged answers traced to their source
  • Cost per conversation, against your cost per ticket

── 07 · Industries ──

Chatbots for your industry.

Customers ask different things in every industry. The way we design, test and measure the bot stays the same.

── 08 · How we build it ──

From transcripts to a live bot.

Discovery starts with your real conversations. The evaluation set is built from them before the bot is.

  1. 01 Discovery · week 1

    Workflow and data audit.

We map the process, pull a sample of real data, and check what is usable, missing or sensitive.

  2. 02 Discovery · week 2

    Evaluation set.

We build the test set from your real examples, so “done” has a number before any product code exists.

  3. 03 Build · sprint 1

    Architecture and prototype.

Model choice, retrieval design and integration plan, proven against the eval set.

  4. 04 Build · every Friday

    Build in the open.

Your repository, your cloud. A weekly demo with accuracy, latency and cost on one screen.

  5. 05 Run · go-live

    Deploy.

A staged rollout behind a feature flag, with runbooks, monitoring and a rollback path.

  6. 06 Run · monthly

    Monitor and improve.

Drift alerts, model upgrades run through your evals, and a monthly cost and quality review.

── 09 · FAQ ──

AI chatbot questions, answered.

Short answers here. Longer ones on the scoping call.

— Still have a question? —

Message us on WhatsApp. An engineer replies within one working day.

What does an AI chatbot development company do?

It designs, builds and runs chatbots that understand what people ask and answer or act on it. At Elluminati that covers conversation design, the model and retrieval behind it, integrations with your systems, and the weekly quality reviews after launch.

How much does it cost to build an AI chatbot?

It depends on the channels, the number of intents and the systems the bot has to act in. Projects start with a fixed-fee discovery sprint, quoted on the scoping call, and the build is priced per milestone. Every quote is written and fixed for its scope.

How long does it take to launch a chatbot?

After a two-week discovery sprint, a first bot on one channel usually takes four to eight weeks to build. Voice agents and bots that take many actions take longer, up to about twelve weeks.

Should we build a custom chatbot or buy a platform?

A platform is often enough for FAQ-style answers. Build custom when the bot must act in several of your systems, when your data can't leave your cloud, or when platform pricing per conversation outgrows the value. Discovery answers this before you commit.

Can the chatbot connect to our CRM and helpdesk?

Yes. The bot reads and writes through your systems' APIs, such as your CRM, helpdesk, booking and payment tools, with each action allow-listed and logged.

How do you stop the chatbot from making things up?

Answers are grounded in your documents and systems, each with its source, and the bot declines when it can't find one. We measure faithfulness on a set of your real questions before every release, and review flagged conversations every week.

Can it hand conversations to our human agents?

Yes. When the bot is unsure, or the customer asks, the conversation moves to your helpdesk queue with the full transcript and a summary, so the agent doesn't start from zero.

Do you build voice and WhatsApp chatbots?

Yes. The same bot can run on your website, in your apps, on WhatsApp, in Slack or Teams, and on the phone as a voice agent. Each channel gets its own tests, because people phrase things differently in each.
